Yes, we are crazy!

I'll just say it, we got a puppy! This was a spur of the moment decision that went against everything Ryan and I had agreed upon. Ryan and I have always wanted to get a dog, but one day in the future. We had decided to wait until the baby was bigger. Over the last couple of months, we have day dreamed about coming home to a cute little puppy that would cuddle with us while we watched TV. Last week a student in Ryan's class brought a puppy to school with her because her parents didn't know that she had one. Well, her parents found out and she had to give it up. She asked Ryan if he wanted the puppy and he called me for permission. He caught me during a vulnerable time and I said yes. When he went to get the puppy, her parents had already given her away, so Ryan got the sister puppy. She is an 8 week-old dachshund/blue heeler mix and her name is Blue. She is a very interesting mix, but she seems to have inherited good qualities from both sides. She loves to cuddle and is very sweet. She is smart and is doing well at potty training and kennel training. Ryan is on spring break this week, so he been able to take her to the vet and work on her training. Although she is not the Bichon that we had planned on getting one day, she is still cute and loveable and I think she will be a great addition to our family. I think Ryan is still a little bit torn. He feels like a traitor for not getting a Bichon, but he loves Blue and loves her personality.

Oh my gosh...I have a dachshund/blue heeler mix! I thought my dog was a very unique breed. That is too funny. Mine is now 3 years old and a sweetheart! She was actually a lot easier to train than my dachshund pure breed. It will be interesting to see what she looks like older. Mine is more of the size of the blue heeler but with the weiner body and she is black and white. Have fun with her...they are a handful but so loving.
