Baby Cannon and our Christmas

Here is the video from our ultrasound last Monday. You can see his head on the left and his creepy eyes. He has his hands in fists and his arms are covering his face (I think he was trying to sleep). You can also see him drink the amniotic fluid. The 4D pictures are not very good, it makes him look like a clay baby. Although the ultrasound tech did not point out that he is a boy until the end, it was quite clear at the beginning of the video.



We had a great Christmas with my mom! We picked her up from the airport on my birthday and she was able to stay for eight days.














Ryan even got the baby Christmas presents. Of course, all of it was UT themed: two kinds of booties, #10 jersey (Vince Young, our favorite), and bottles. My dad even got him a remote controlled Hummer. The next day my mom and I went shopping for some cute boy clothes.

Whenever Ryan and I have had a difference of thinking, not a difference of opinion but a difference of what is fact and what is not, I have won. But today I humbly come to you and admit that I was wrong! And 80% of all of you were also wrong! Bravo to the five of you brave enough to vote boy. I commend your courage and wisdom.




When the technician said boy, I was in unbelief. The whole time I had been thinking girl! "Are you sure?" I asked, because the umbilical cord was hanging out over there as you can see.



Here, there is a clear distinction that it is not the umbilical cord. I still wasn't convinced.


The other technician came in to check my placenta, which is low lying. "Are you SURE it's a boy," I asked her. Referring to the above picture she said, "Here is a leg. Here is the other leg. And that thing in the middle, well, girls don't have that!" Okay, I get it. It's a boy! No more questions!

For any of you wondering about names, his name will be Cannon (middle name is still in discussion).

20 weeks

Today was the big appointment. Total weight gain: 17 pounds. Now for all you anxious fans, I am making you wait until Christmas before we reveal the gender. I know, we're mean! You can wait three days!

Look at my cute belly

I have finally been feeling the baby move, a lot! The other night Ryan and I pressed down on my belly and we could both feel the baby move! The baby is always very low, which is not very comfortable. I have also been experiencing a lot of sciatic nerve pain. Despite all the discomfort, I am really starting to enjoy my pregnancy now. It's exciting to feel it move and it feels nice to not be sick. I have only been taking the Zofran once or twice a week now! So I think it's safe to say that my morning sickness has passed! Hallelujah!!

My mom is coming to visit us for Christmas! She flies in on Saturday, my birthday, and will stay for eight days. She also gets to join us for the long-awaited, gender revealing ultra-sound this Monday! Then we can finally see who is right and who is wrong (I'm right, Ryan's wrong).
